Huangshan Maofeng (2024 New Spring Tea – Pre Qingming)
From: $30.95
Huangshan Maofeng (Yellow Mountain Fur Peak) is a great everyday green tea. Grown at the root of Huangshan mountain range, these tea leaves are usually picked just after the Qingming Festival (Tomb-Sweeping Day) on April 5th or 6th. The plucking standard for this tea is one bud with two newly opened leaves.
Our Huangshan Maofeng dry leaves are in fresh green color with a soft white fuzz. When brewing, the dry tea leaves unfold to illustrate the beautiful image of new leaves growing on a tea tree. The liquor has a clean, light apricot color.
This tea tastes mellow and smooth with a delicate sweetness and a fresh floral aroma. It is mild with no astringency and has a light, mouth-watering aftertaste.

Maofeng means “fur peak,” which describes the appearances of these tea leaves. When it comes time to harvest this tea, only the buds with two newly opened leaves are picked. Local farmers often say that the leaves resemble orchid buds.
Huangshan is one of the most famous green teas from China. Located in Anhui, the area is also well known for its magnificent scenery made up of many granite peaks and rocks emerging out of a sea of clouds. Every year, Huangshan attracts millions of travelers from around the world to see its iconic beauty.
The tea plant is called Camellia Sinensis with origins near southwest China. The leaves are glossy green with serrated edges. Tea is harvested in warmer months. During the plucking season, young leaves at the top of the plant, especially those with tips, are picked by hand.
Yes, but a cup of tea contains far less caffeine than a cup of coffee. Tea also contains L-Theanine to help ease anxiety and reduce insomnia.
Tea is rich in antioxidants and contains polyphenols that have anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-cancer health benefits. Research has shown that tea may help with weight loss, protect bones, and boost the immune system. In addition to physical benefits, the attractive aroma and exceptional taste of tea also benefit mental health. Drinking tea lowers levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which can help relieve anxiety. Antioxidants in tea such as EGCG and L-Theanine are thought to make people feel calmer and improve memory and attention. Simply preparing tea and enjoying it can bring you peace of mind.
Yes! It is important to choose appropriate water for the best taste! The quality of water depends on various factors like pH level, mineral content, hardness, etc. Water with a neutral pH level between 6-8 and hardness between 1-4 grains is suitable for brewing tea. High mineral content can destroy the taste of tea. It is recommended to use mountain stream water, good-quality bottled spring water and filtered tap water. Make sure only fresh water is used in preparing tea.

Subtle and fresh. So fun to watch the tea leaves dancing in the cup.
Its delicate, light brew yields a refreshingly sweet and subtly grassy flavor. Each sip feels like a gentle embrace of nature, reflecting the serene beauty of Huangshan itself. Ideal for moments of peaceful reflection.
The leaves were whole and the taste and mouth feel were good. I usually only like oolongs, so I think this is a good tea to try if you are branching out on your tea selections.
