Lid Stand | Porcelain

This Teaware Lid Stand  is made of fine quality Jingdezhen porcelain. The drawing on the stand was manually drawn by Hence Tea’s artist (not machine-printed). You can place the Gaiwan lid or Teapot lid on top of this to help you organize your tea table during your Gongfu tea session. This adds a decoration to your tea ceremony too.

Porcelain originated in China during the Shang Dynasty, nearly 4,000 years ago. There are many types of porcelain teawares, including white porcelain, black porcelain, and blue porcelain.

Jingdezhen is known as China’s “Porcelain Capital.” It has been producing high-quality Chinese porcelain ceramics for more than 1,000 years.

From the Ming period onwards, the emperor controlled all the official kilns in Jingdezhen. These official kilns made imperial porcelain for the court in large quantities, and the emperor gave the Jingdezhen porcelain as gifts.
